A blog from Super Science!
Hello from Super Science. We are off to a very hot beginning of the week. Here is a fun fact for you...persperation is your body's mechanism for fighting off heat. The perspiration actually pulls the heat away from your body causing the perspiration to evaporate and your body to cool down.
This week, at the request of the children, the younger groups are making goo (I tell the kids to ask their parents before bringing it into the house). The older groups are being introduced to the properties of aerodynamics as we build straw rockets and cars.
This summer will bring the introduction of new and exciting investigations such as the isolation of DNA from strawberries. We will also bring back some favorites such as making ice cream the scientific way.
Don't forget to check out http://www.stonybrookdaycamp.smugmug.com to see all of the pictures from camp!
