Performing Arts & Dance at Stonybrook

Our Dance Specialist:  Diana Batino

Our campers have expanded their horizons this summer; they have been dancing Salsa, Merenge, Hip-Hop and other Latin dance styles and this is due to the passion of one amazing staff person.

Diana, who was born in Columbia, is all about dancing.  It is such an important part of who she is.  "It is part of my culture....it runs in my veins, and as a Latin person it's a way to express my emotions. I danced for over 8 years traveling all over my country to participate in different carnivals and parades".

And this summer she is the performing arts teacher here at Stonybrook Day Camp.  "I have been teaching Latin rhythms such as Salsa, Merengue, Latin Hip-hop, Reggaeton, Tango and Samba. I'm really happy that even though  most of them are not familiar with this type of music, they all look forward to go to my class, they really enjoy doing it!"

We are beyond thrilled Diana- THANK YOU and DANCE ON!
