Jim Stricchiola is true blue Stonybrook Day Camp, and we certainly
are happy about that! For 15
years, Jim has been an important part of camp and our campers just adore
him. He is our official basketball
guru and can often he seen shooting hoops with campers throughout the day. An
excellent role model for staff, he is fun, dependable and always willing to
help wherever needed. He also serves as one of our Van Drivers!
Family: Two
daughters, who have grown up at camp and are now both counselors.
Hobbies: Spending time with daughters
and his girlfriend. In addition to
sports, he also enjoys cooking.
Best Camp Memory: “I loved
seeing my girls learn to swim and conquering the challenge course.”
Advice for new mom or dads coming to
work at camp (or simply any parent): “Enjoy the moments. They go by quickly. One
moment your kids are in Nursery and then next thing you know it they are in
Teen Xtreme.”
Camp philosophy: “Teach the campers
to work hard. It is important to learn the basics. And keep at it. Continue to try to improve. But most of
all have fun.”
Other: Jim runs a SEND A KID TO CAMP PROGRAM and he has done so for
the part 7 years. It is simply a
life changing experience for a child, who otherwise would not be able to attend
camp, to spend their summer enjoying the freedom, friendship, and fun that camp
offers. The program gets a lot of help from Madison Police Department, Elks
club, and Stonybrook Day Camp.

on supporting Jim’s effort, they can email him at stricchiolaj@madisonpublicschools.org.
Jim, you are truly a Stonybrook
All-Star and we appreciate it so much!
