Arts and Crafts

Our campers have been busy at Arts and Crafts creating masterpieces to take home and share.

Our Arts and Crafts Specialists: Stacey White and Lisa Ford

We recently completed a project celebrating the 4th of July. Campers made natural vases out of sticks they found at camp.  They used their stick gathering skills to decorate this woodsy vase.  Some used skinny sticks, while others preferred larger sticks.  Each creation was unique.  Campers filled the vase with a basil plant!

Some of our younger campers decorated fish made out of coffee filters. They were amazed to see what happens when the coffee filters.  They were amazed to see what happens when the coffee filter paper is sprayed with water.  The colors bleed making an awesome tie dye effect.  This is a great activity to do with your kids on a rainy day when your kids say, "I'm bored.  I have nothing to do!"  All you need are markers (washable ones work great); coffee filters, and a spray bottle with water.  Here at Stonybrook, campers cut the paper into fish and created fishing poles!

This week and last week we completed our Stonbyrook photo frames.  Campers are letting their creative juices flow as they decoupage their frames.  Each camper will take home his or her frame with a complimentary group photo!

We have some more exciting projects in store for the rest of the summer! Campers have really embraced Arts and Crafts and will continue to bring home their masterpieces!

Don't forget to
